January 25th Burns Day we celebrate with a bit of Tartan.  Eat on Burns night Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.  Dress with a touch of Tartan and celebrate Rabbie Burns with a wee dram. 

The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Near to Aberfoyle.  Approx 12 miles from Loaninghead. Open daily.

26 -28th January celebrating the RSPB’s Big Garden Bird Watch.  Join them to see what birds frequent the feeders at the Lodge. Tel;  0300067 6615

Explore  the trails around the Lodge and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.   Aberfoyle approx. 10 miles  from Loaninghead Holiday Cottages. Turn right up hill towards the Trossachs and Lodge Forest Visitor Centre.

Mugdock Country Park    Rabbie Burns –  27th and 28th January at 2p.m. or 4p.m. Mugdock Theatre.  An hour long family show about the life of Rabbie Burns. Laughs tears songs and dancing.

Market at Lomond Shores just 8 miles drive from you holiday cottage at Loaninghead.

Lots of nice eating places Balloch, Drymen,  Gartocharn if you wish a stop of for Lunch.

Gift shop, ladies wear, toy shop and children wear with restaurant at The Aizle, open for breakfast until 5p.m.  0.5 miles from Loaninghead.  No pavement cannot walk, road too busy car essential.
